- The TW-HD is the perfect mid-sized commercial firewood splitter for operators looking to increase production without investing in a full-scale firewood processor. Built with heavy-duty components and designed for daily use, it delivers the durability, power, and reliability needed for firewood businesses. Capable of producing up to 1.5 cords of firewood per hour, the TW-HD combines high output with efficient operation. Its portable design allows operators to bring commercial-grade firewood production directly to the job site while maintaining impressive productivity.
- The machine is powered by a dependable 12 HP Honda GX390 engine, known for its fuel efficiency, reliability, and long service life. This commercial-grade engine provides consistent power throughout the workday while keeping operating costs low. A heavy-duty 5-inch hydraulic cylinder delivers substantial splitting force, allowing the TW-HD to handle large, tough hardwood logs with ease. Combined with the machine's efficient hydraulic system, it provides the power needed for demanding commercial applications.
- Logs are pushed through a standard 4-way wedge, producing four pieces of firewood in a single cycle. Finished wood lands on the table grate while bark and debris fall through, helping keep the work area clean and organized.
- Designed for one-person operation, the hydraulic log lift can handle logs weighing up to 500 pounds. The lift can be mounted on either side of the machine and automatically feeds logs into the self-centering splitting chamber for efficient processing.
- The self-centering chamber uses two tapered ½-inch steel plates to automatically align logs before splitting. This reduces manual adjustments, improves split consistency, and helps maintain a smooth production workflow.
- All splitting and log lift functions are controlled by a conveniently located 3-spool valve positioned at the operator platform. Unlike many splitters that require operators to bend down to access controls, the TW-HD places controls at a comfortable working height.
- The elevated operator platform sits approximately 36 inches off the ground, placing controls near waist level for improved ergonomics. This design reduces operator fatigue and allows for comfortable all-day operation.
- A hydraulic wedge lift with 8 inches of vertical adjustment allows operators to quickly match wedge height to varying log sizes. This ensures consistent center splits and improves efficiency when processing mixed loads of firewood.
- An oversized hydraulic tank helps keep fluid cool and properly filtered during continuous operation. Cooler hydraulic temperatures improve component life, reduce downtime, and help maintain consistent machine performance.
- Built with longevity in mind, features such as the protective valve cover, heavy-duty steel construction, and robust hydraulic system help reduce maintenance requirements and extend machine life. The result is a commercial log splitter designed to maximize uptime, productivity, and profitability.
Loading Logs Made Easy
Loading logs weighing up to 500 pounds has never been easier thanks to the TW-HD's hydraulic log lift. Simply roll a log onto the lift, engage the control lever, and the log is smoothly raised and transferred directly into the self-centering splitting chamber. This feature significantly reduces the physical effort required to handle large rounds, improving both operator comfort and overall productivity.
For added versatility, the hydraulic log lift can be installed on either side of the machine to accommodate different worksite layouts and operator preferences. This flexible design allows users to configure the splitter for the most efficient workflow, helping maximize productivity across a wide range of firewood processing applications.
Dynamic Hydraulic System
TW-HD heavy-duty log splitters are fully integrated with a hydraulic log lift capable of handling and loading logs up to 500 pounds, along with a hydraulically controlled wedge lift that provides up to 8 inches of vertical adjustment for precise splitting across a wide range of log sizes. This integrated hydraulic system is supported by a large 25-gallon hydraulic tank, which ensures ample fluid capacity to maintain cool, clean, and well-filtered hydraulic oil throughout extended periods of operation. The combination of high-capacity lifting power and thermal efficiency allows operators to run the firewood splitter continuously throughout the day with consistent performance, reduced heat buildup, and improved long-term system reliability.
Protect What Matters
The TW-HD’s wedge lift, log lift, and push block cylinder are all driven by hydraulic power, making the hydraulic system the core of the machine’s performance. Because these high-pressure components are essential to consistent operation, protecting the hydraulic hoses that route fluid throughout the system is critical for long-term reliability and safety.
Exposure to harsh jobsite conditions, including weathering, abrasion, and UV rays, can gradually cause hydraulic hoses to dry out, crack, or weaken over time, potentially leading to leaks or failures if left unprotected. To prevent this, the TW-HD is equipped with a built-in valve cover that shields the machine’s valves, hoses, and fittings from environmental damage and daily wear.
This protective design helps extend the overall lifespan of the log splitter by reducing exposure-related deterioration, minimizing maintenance needs, and ensuring the hydraulic system continues to operate smoothly and efficiently over years of demanding use.
Ergonomically Designed Log Splitter
Timberwolf's HD series wood splitters feature a 36" tall operator's platform that comfortably situates itself at the operator's waist.
The log splitter with a log lift's ergonomic design is the result of years of frustration, hunched over other log splitters on the market with a sore back and not enough wood to show for it.
We made the industrial firewood splitter so operators can split firewood from sun up to sun down in a comfortable position, with a solid cord output at the end of the day.
Funnel Your Firewood Onto the Next Stage
A 32" long table grate is standardly equipped to the log splitter with a hydraulic lift. The table grate is constructed from heavy gauge pipe and High Steel plate steel.
The table grate is designed to filter out scraps and act as a funnel into a firewood conveyor, or whatever the next step in your firewood processing may be.
5" Cylinder
The log splitter equipped with a 4-Way Wedge is powered by a dependable 12 HP engine and features a heavy-duty 5-inch hydraulic cylinder with a 3.5-inch rod and a 26-inch stroke, delivering strong, consistent performance for demanding firewood production. This robust hydraulic setup provides a fast 8-second cycle time while generating an impressive 44.425 tons of splitting force, allowing operators to process tough, dense logs efficiently and with minimal downtime between cycles.
Portable Log Splitter
Both the trailer hitch and jack on the TW-HD gas splitter are fully removable and can be installed on either side of the heavy-duty log splitter.
The trailer hitch can be placed at the front or back of the machine. This feature is especially useful when towing the heavy-duty log splitter from a cramped area. Once the log splitter is ready for splitting, the hitch can be removed and placed away from falling split logs.
Similarly, the jack can be placed on either the right or left side of the TW-HD. Since the log lift is on the operator's side, users may want to place the jack on the other side of the wood splitter so it is out of the way. The TW-HD will still operate just as well with the jack on the operator's side of the firewood machine.
Built for One-Man Operations
With a small, economical engine, beefy frame, and high-power hydraulics, the TW-HD bridges the gap between personal and professional log splitters. No matter your firewood processing needs, this gas log splitter will provide everything needed and more for a single-person operation.
The hydraulic log lift is located on the operator's side of the firewood splitter, so operators don't have to move in order to roll logs as heavy as 500 pounds into the self-centering splitting chamber. From here operators can adjust the height of the firewood splitting wedge with the hydraulic wedge lift for a perfect split.
