- The Pro-MP XL and Pro-MP XL Diesel are purpose-built for commercial firewood producers who need a machine capable of handling large timber, high production volumes, and demanding job sites. Built on a robust full-frame platform and weighing approximately 8,000 pounds, these processors deliver exceptional durability and stability while offering one of the strongest value propositions available among Western-manufactured firewood processors. With the ability to process logs up to 32 feet in length and 24 inches in diameter, the Pro-MP XL series provides the versatility required for everything from small tree-service wood to large tree-length logs.
- Designed to maximize production efficiency, the Pro-MP XL series combines fast cycle times with intelligent material handling. The standard 4-inch splitting cylinder delivers rapid splitting speeds, allowing operators to maintain a continuous workflow throughout the day. Working alongside the integrated re-split chamber, the machine produces clean, consistently sized firewood while minimizing waste and reducing the need for additional handling. For operations processing larger hardwoods or prioritizing maximum throughput, an optional 5-inch cylinder is available, providing the power necessary to push difficult material through multi-way wedges ranging from 6-way to 10-way configurations.
- The cutting system is engineered for performance and longevity. An Oregon 0.404 18HX chain is powered by a high-torque bent-axis piston motor, providing strong and consistent cutting force across a wide range of wood species. This proven setup delivers fast cutting speeds while helping extend chain life, reducing maintenance requirements and keeping production moving efficiently.
- Reliability remains a key advantage of the Pro-MP XL platform. The hydraulic system and controls are intentionally designed for simplicity, making operation straightforward and minimizing potential downtime. Routine maintenance can be performed quickly with basic training, allowing operators to focus more time on production and less time on repairs.
- To further improve workflow, the machine can be equipped with an optional 10-foot integrated conveyor. This addition allows processed firewood to be transferred directly into a dump trailer or fed into an AutoFine system, reducing labor requirements and creating a more efficient production process from log deck to finished product.
- Customers can choose between two proven powerplants depending on their operational needs. The Pro-MP XL features a reliable 38 HP Kohler EFI gasoline engine that delivers excellent performance, fuel efficiency, and affordability for everyday commercial processing. For operators seeking maximum power and fuel economy, the Pro-MP XL Diesel is powered by the rugged Hatz H-Series 3-cylinder 3H50 turbo diesel engine producing 56 horsepower. Known for its durability and efficiency, this engine delivers the torque needed to tackle large timber while keeping fuel consumption remarkably low.
- Mobility was a priority throughout the design process. Both models are fully DOT-certified and road legal, allowing operators to travel comfortably at highway speeds between jobsites. High ground clearance provides access to rough logging landings and challenging terrain, while the machine's quick setup design allows production to begin within minutes of arrival.
- The standard 4-strand live deck is designed to accommodate a wide variety of material sizes, from smaller tree-service logs to full tree-length timber. This versatility ensures a steady flow of wood into the processor and helps maintain consistent production rates regardless of log size or source.
- For customers in Western markets and regions where longer logs are commonly processed, extended-frame options are available. Custom configurations can be built to suit specific production requirements, allowing operators to tailor the machine to their workflow, timber supply, and processing goals.
- Combining heavy-duty construction, powerful engine options, fast splitting performance, efficient cutting technology, and road-ready mobility, the Pro-MP XL series delivers the productivity and reliability commercial firewood producers need to maximize output and profitability year after year.
Process Big Logs Without Breaking the Bank
In today's market it is becoming the norm for manufacturers to charge around six figures for a commercial processor that can handle 24” diameter logs, but just because they can handle bigger logs doesn't mean it's worth the cost.
With the Pro-MP Series commercial wood processor, you get a frame that is built to handle large logs without the hefty price tag. Timberwolf Pro-MP Series processors are capable of cutting and splitting logs as long as 32' and as wide as 24" in diameter without skipping a beat, making them the most cost-effective wood processor in their class. Additionally, this mid-sized log processor is designed to be accessible for easy and safe adjustments, allowing operators to create custom firewood pieces with little effort.
Process Tree-Sized Logs
The Pro-MP XL and XL Diesel firewood processors' back roller and driven top roll clamping system allow the wood processor to process logs in excess of 32’ in length.
The hourglass-shaped back roller with large teeth improves traction for logs being fed forward, reducing the need for operator involvement and feed trough adjustments.
4-Strand Live Deck With Hydraulic Lift
The Pro-MP Series features a heavy-duty built 4-stand live deck with a full roller chain, idler, and driven sprockets to easily guide large logs onto the 16’ long feed trough. The mid-sized firewood processor can hold approximately 2 face cords on its live deck.
The hydraulic lift cylinder allows for the live deck to be raised and lowered, and the stow bar makes it easy to store and transport.
Secure Long Logs for Clean Cuts
With the ability to apply 1,000 pounds of pressure on logs as they move forward, the driven top roll clamping system effectively secures the logs in place and minimizes the need for the saw to repeatedly engage with the log after the initial contact.
Additionally, the machine is equipped with an hourglass-shaped roller at the end, complete with large teeth that enhance the traction of logs as they are fed onto the feed trough. This feature eliminates the need for constant operator intervention and ensures a smooth and efficient firewood processing experience.
3-Stage Gear Pump for Fast and Simultaneous Functions
Operators can feed and cut logs while driving the push block on the Pro-MP Series commercial log processor, thanks to the 3-stage gear pump. On the Pro-MP XL, 22 GPM flows to the push block cylinder, 19 GPM goes to the saw and wedge lift, and 9 GPM flows to the auxiliary functions of the mid-sized wood processor.
The Pro-MP Diesel offers a 22-16-14 pump flow for maximum power and performance.
Easily Transport Your Firewood Processor
With a standard ball hitch coupler and safety chains, Pro-MP Series processors are easy to move at a weight of only 7,500 pounds. When raised for transportation the live deck and integrated conveyor fold over the center of the commercial log processor for smooth and secure towing, even at highway speeds and across the country.
With fast and easy setup, bring this processor to the jobsite and start splitting quickly, with no wasted time.
Wedge Height Adjustments With the Flick of a Spool
The Pro-MP XL and XL Diesel firewood processors feature a hydraulic wedge lift that allows operators to easily adjust the height of their 4-Way or 6-Way Wedge. Not only does the wedge lift make height adjustments quick and easy, but it also allows operators to move the wedge out of the way for easier access to the splitting chamber when handling logs for re-splits. This accessible industrial-grade processor is both safety-oriented and designed for ease of use in the field.
Heavy-Duty Hoses
All Timberwolf firewood machines use industrial-grade hoses to route the flow of hydraulic functions. We use extremely heavy-duty hoses because of their rugged construction, abrasion and kink resistance, and, most importantly, their ability to withstand high pressure fluids.
Customer safety is a top priority for us, so we use the highest quality materials to ensure your safety.
